A stylish refurbishment to convert an empty listed building in to a coffee house and bar.
32 Blackwellgate is a listed building in a prominent location in Darlington town centre. Having been left empty for several years, we worked closely with the new owners to refurbish the building and create a contemporary new addition to the Darlington social scene.
The works took place in an awkward town centre location, and the extensive renovation included structural works to the basement, installation of folding window systems, a new commercial kitchen, plumbing, electricals and finishes througout.
Downstairs has a modern Scandinavian feel to it, while upstairs shows off some of the understated listed features of the building. The end result is a fashionable and well finished coffee house that has breathed life back in to into an empty building.
