Lakeside Gym, Wilton Centre

Client Wilton Centre

Architect Brian E Wright Architects

Duration 22 weeks

Location The Wilton Centre, near Redcar

Complete overhaul and refurbishment to construct a state of the art gym with studios, treatment rooms and high specification shower and changing rooms.

The area was previously private dining and kitchen facilities for senior ICI management and had been vacated for many years. We demolished all internal walls and reconfigured the space to suit the new layout.

New mechanical, plumbing and electrical services were installed in addition to a full internal fit out to create a unique asset for the Wilton Centre.

The project was value engineered to generate substantial cost savings, phased to suit the client's requirements and completed with minimal disruption to the normal running of the Wilton Centre, and in particular the kitchen and dining hall situated below the site.

Following on from the project we have developed a strong working relationship with the Wilton Centre and their tenants and have gone on to complete the following projects:

  • Refurbishment works to create the Lakeside meeting rooms and WCs.
  • Construction of a Microbiology Laboratory and Fermentation Suite for cpi - featuring complicated gas installations and control systems, it was the first of its kind in the UK.
  • Construction of a sound proof room for Sabic.
  • Several small works projects.
