Corporate Social Responsibility 2016
Corporate Social Responsibility is something that Wharton Construction have been doing for a long time, and a long time before we even realised that it had a name.
Our highlights of 2016 include the following…
We are a supporter of Butterwick Hospice and this year we have completed a Zombie Run at Hamsterley Forest, attended a Golf Day at Rockliffe Hall made a commitment to the charity as a Corporate Supporter.
Darlington All Stars
We have sponsored the Darlington All Stars Football Team for several years, and their new tracksuits were the first place that featured the new Wharton Construction logo.
We are a great believer in offering apprenticeships, and in 2016 we employed 5 fulltime apprentices. In 2017 we will be continuing with our plans to upskill our workforce and will be recruiting further apprentices in the Summer.
4 Good Fund
Through our appointment as a contractor on the YORbuild Construction Framework we support the 4 Good Fund – Upon completion of a project, contractors contribute a sum of money to the fund which is then used to support community projects. Contractors also make a commitment of time and resources to support projects that meet the 4 Good Fund criteria – in 2016, we referred two projects to the scheme and hope that they will be successful following the application process.< Back to news
